Leon's values and respects the privacy our customers and our visitors. This Privacy Policy describes Leon's privacy practices and those of its subsidiaries and related brands. This Privacy Policy applies to our interactions with our customers and visitors including:

  • Visits, access and use of Leon's websites; 
  • Visits to our stores or attendance at our events; 
  • Use of our applications for mobile phones, tablets or other smart devices; 
  • Communications by phone, email, texts, online chat or other electronic means; 
  • Creation and registration of an account with Leon's; 
  • Social media interactions on Leon's websites and on other third-party websites like Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, Google+, Instagram and Twitter; 
  • View or acquire Leon's Products and Services including our online advertisements; and 
  • Interactions with our third-party service providers. 

What information does Leon's collect? 

Leon's collects and uses your personal information in order to provide you with the products you purchase from us, to collect payment from you, to effect delivery or pick-up of the products (if applicable), to issue and administer gift and promotional cards, and in order to provide follow-up customer service and, warranty service, financing, or credit insurance on those products (if applicable). We also collect this information to process and track returns and credits and to help detect and prevent fraud and otherwise administer our loss prevention program.

When you make a purchase from Leon's, we will ask you for your name, home address and phone number. For any online transaction we will also collect your email address. Although you are not required in every circumstance to give us this information to complete your purchase, should you choose not to provide it to us we will be impeded in assisting you if you have problems or concerns with your purchase in the future, particularly if you do not retain your sales invoice.

If you make a purchase using a Credit Card, we collect your name, billing address for the card, type of card, card number and card expiration date. We require this information in order to process your purchase.

If you are applying for a Credit Card, in addition to your name, address and phone number, and your email address if you provide it to us, we, on our own behalf and as agent for Flexiti or to such other financing provider we may refer you, collect additional personal information and/or financial information as required on the application form in order to process your application and for the purposes set out in this policy, the Credit Card application, the cardholder agreement for the Credit Card. If we are delivering your purchase to you, we require your name, address for delivery and phone number. If you will be picking up your purchase at a later time, we require your name and other identifying personal information in order to verify your identity as the purchaser at the time of pick-up.

When at all possible, we collect your personal information directly from you. If you are applying for a Credit Card, we and/or Flexiti and its affiliates may collect additional personal information and/or financial information from third parties such as a credit bureau.

If you register in one of our programs or enter a contest or promotion, we collect your personal information to administer your participation in the program, contest or promotion. We also may collect information including photos, videos and other content if you choose to upload the information or post a review, which may be viewed by others. We also may use this information to inform you about products, promotions and services that we think may interest you unless you advise us that you do not wish to receive such information.

In order to improve your customer experience, we use third-party analytics services to assist us in analyzing trends in our products and services. In using these analytics services, we generate and process aggregated information that does not review your identity. If we combine or connect aggregated information to your Personal Information, which may allow us to directly or indirectly identify you, we will treat this information as Personal Information and will be administered in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We disclose your personal information to our suppliers to provide warranty, financing, credit and other services on the products you purchase. When we offer special promotions by which you receive one or more free goods or services directly from one of our suppliers, we disclose your personal information to those suppliers for them to contact you to arrange for provision of their goods and/or services and for follow-up service.

If you are applying for or financing your purchase using a Flexiti Credit Card, issued by Flexiti Financial Inc. (“Flexiti”), we collect, use and disclose your information including personal information and/or financial information, on our own behalf and as agent for Flexiti and their affiliates for the purposes set out in this Policy, the Credit Card application, the cardholder agreement for the Credit Card and Flexiti's Privacy Agreement found at www.flexiti.com/EN/Privacy. Leon's may be providing Customer Service on the Credit Card Accounts for Flexiti and Leon's may share your information including personal, financial and/or transaction information with each other and with their affiliates or others for that purpose and as described in this Policy.

We may offer additional financing programs through Leon's or other third-party financing providers from time to time. If you choose one of these financing programs, we will collect, use and disclose your information including personal information and/or financial information on our own behalf and as agent for the financing provider and may share your information including personal and transaction information with the financing provider.

If you make a claim pursuant to your credit insurance purchased through either Trans Global Life Insurance Company or Trans Global Insurance Company, we will collect and use your health information to process your claim.

We collect, use and disclose as little of your personal information as we can while still ensuring that we can fulfill our identified purposes. We never sell or trade your personal information to any person or organization outside of Leon's.

We may also capture your image with closed circuit cameras when you visit our stores to prevent and detect fraud and otherwise as part of our loss prevention program. We may require you to authenticate your identity for verification purposes.

We may get information about you from third-party business partners such as updated shipping information. We may also collect information about you from a friend or relative. If you refer someone to us, please ensure that you only submit contact information of individuals with whom you have a close personal or family relationship who would be interested in receiving communications from us or who have authorized you to share their contact information.

We otherwise collect, use and disclose your personal information as permitted and/or required by law.

Why does Leon's collect visitor information? 

We gather information with these objectives in mind:

  1. To take and handle orders, process payments including through financing programs or gift cards and fulfill your order accurately and quickly including any returns or warranty claims that may occur.
  2. To learn how we can improve your shopping experience by personalizing your shopping experience and identifying customer trends and preferences including using demographic or location information.
  3. To recommend features, products and services that might be of interest to you,
  4. To communicate with you regarding the products and services you have or may purchase and about your account and programs in which you may be enrolled;
  5. To inform you of special events, promotions, offers or new features.
  6. To hear from you about our products and services including product or service reviews.
  7. To engage with you on our website or through third-party social media websites or applications.
  8. To enter or register you in our programs, promotions, and contests including creating a user account.
  9. To protect our customer and Leon's through fraud detection and loss prevention.

Is the customer information collected by Leon's secure?

Leon's has designed its systems with the security of you and your information in mind. We have taken reasonable steps to provide you with our products and services in a secure manner. We have implemented reasonable security measures that are designed to prevent your personal information from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorized way, altered or disclosed. We limit the access to your personal information to only those employees, agents, contractors and third parties who require access in order to perform their business function. If in the rare event of a data security breach, we will notify customers and regulators of the suspected data breach.

Does Leon's share customer personal information?

Leon's does not sell our customer's personal information to others. We may share your information for business purposes where legally required or permitted. This may include providing customer information to our affiliated businesses and to services providers who provide services on our behalf such as delivery service providers, repair services, payment processors, warranty providers, financial service providers, communication agencies and call centres and other similar service providers. We also may share customer information with our vendors to respond to reviews and resolve product inquiries. We may also disclose account or personal information when we believe it is appropriate to do so in order to comply with the law or to protect the rights, property and information of Leon's and our customers such as in order to investigate or prevent fraud.

Why does Leon's ask me to create a Leon's User Account?

When you visit leons.ca, you have the option of creating a Leon's user account, which is required to place an online order from Leon's. A Leon's user account also gives you free access to these valuable features:

  • Save your selections for as long as you like.
  • Get access to special promotions if you choose to opt into our promotional emails.
  • View delivery details and lead times instantly.

Does the Leon's website remember me automatically?

Leon's uses a technology called "cookies " to remember you and the information you are saving. When you visit our website, we send you back a cookie, a small text file that includes a temporary inquiry number, your IP address, plus any items you've chosen. The information we store in cookies is also linked to any personally identifiable information you submit while on our site. Your web browser has a special folder on your computer where it keeps cookies. Cookies cannot harm your computer in any way. Only the website that places a cookie on your computer is allowed to read it; no other website may access the cookie Leon's places on your computer.

If you are visiting Leon's from a computer that only you or your family use, cookies present no security concern. However, if you are using a shared computer in a public environment (i.e. a library or work), others using that computer to visit Leon's can log in as you. Although Leon's never displays your credit card information on our website, someone logging in as you could access less confidential data, such as your name or shipping address. If this applies to you, consider choosing not to be "remembered " when you register using a shared computer in a public environment. Instead, log in at each visit.

Cookies make your shopping experience much easier. If you are trying to decide between two sofas, the cookie enables your computer to find those items again without doing a whole new search. Your browser looks in its cookie folder, finds your Leon's cookie and tells Leon's that you want to look at the same sofas again.

When you add an item to your Shopping Cart, request a price, or place an order, your cookie may hold information with the details of the items you're considering ordering.

They enable your computer to keep a list of items you're considering or to place them directly in your Shopping Cart (so you don't have to re-enter them manually).

What visitor information does Leon's website keep track of?

Information tracked automatically is generic and doesn't include any personal details:

  • When you log onto the Internet, your computer says to your Internet service, "Here I am; talk to me!" by requesting an IP (Internet Protocol) address, sort of like asking for a seat at an electronic table with numbered seats.   • At any point while you're browsing, you can place an item in your Shopping Cart. When you're done browsing, you can review your Shopping Cart. If you want to place an order, indicate the item(s) you wish to order and click the Proceed to Checkout button. Enter your delivery information, including name, address, and preferred contact time/method in case we need to get in touch with you about your order.
  • The next screen gives you a price quote for the item(s) you're ordering, including price and applicable sales tax.

What does Leon's do with this information?

Leon's has an absolute commitment to keep your information secure. The information you share with us is used to fulfill your order and to keep you up-to-date on the status of your order. After you place an order, we'll contact you with information about the order as needed.

The financial institutions processing your payment may send us supplemental information if there is a problem in completing the transaction. This information is used only in processing your order(s) from this website.

Information about your browser helps us improve the way our site appears on your computer and makes sure our site is up to date and compatible with your system. Traffic reports (information about sites that refer visitors to us) help us select the best places to reach people interested in shopping for home furnishings online.

Does Leon's collect and use location data?

Yes. If you use our mobile website, we may collect location data obtained from your IP address. We use this location data to find the nearest Leon's store to you, to provide you with product pricing and availability and to provide you with driving directions. Certain mobile applications may also use this information to determine if you are shopping or are located near or in one of our stores. If so, we may present you with relevant in-store information and offerings.

Does Leon's share such information? With whom?

The information gathered on this site by Leon's as part of your purchasing is used only to process your purchase and is not shared with anyone except in connection with your order. Credit card or cheque information is only shared with financial institutions that process your payment. Information on financing applications goes directly to the financial institution that handles the financing, not to Leon's; we never see your application information, only your approval code, name and address. Leon's may use your information as part of our fraud detection and loss prevention program and may share your information as part of the program. Technically, this shared information does pass out of our direct control, but Leon's makes clear to financial companies we work with that we expect your information to be handled in accordance with Leon's Privacy Policy.

No parties other than Leon's directly collect information on our site. We do not sell, rent, share, trade or give away any of the information you provide to us except to the financial institutions processing your payment or your financing application. No third party will solicit you as a result of information within Leon's.

Does Leon's track my social media?

When you engage with our content on or through third-party social networking websites, plug-ins and applications, you may allow us to have access to certain social media account information as determined by the settings of the social media services to deliver the content or as part of the operation of the website, plug-in or application. Social media platforms may collect information about your use of our services and may notify other users of the platform about your activities on our websites and mobile applications. Social media services may also use cookies or other technologies to provide services or to track your online activities over time and across multiple websites and mobile applications. Your interactions with social media features are governed by the respect privacy policies of the companies providing the features.

It is true that the information you provide is subject to disclosure pursuant to judicial or other government subpoenas, warrants, or orders.

Can I tell Leon's not to gather or keep track of my visit via the cookie?

Yes. You can set your browser not to accept cookies, but remember that cookies make your purchases easy. They enable your computer to keep a list of items you're considering or to place them directly in your Shopping Cart (so you don't have to re-enter them manually).

How do I correct or update information about me and my order(s)?

To change, correct, or update information about you or your order prior to shipment, please access the "My Account" area of our website. Alternatively, contact us at customercare@leons.ca.

Can I cancel my order?

If you have NOT received your merchandise, you may cancel all or part of your order without a charge or fee by contacting us prior to 48 hours of your delivery date.

Note: Orders containing special order items cannot be cancelled.

What is your return policy?

All sales are final. However if you discover concealed damages you have 72 hours to report it. Just call the customer service department of the Leon's store nearest you.

Can I have my name removed from Leon's active records? How?

If you would like your name removed from our active records, you may go to your Account and click "edit my email preferences ". Alternatively, you may also send an email to customercare@leons.ca.
