THIS WEEKEND - HOLIDAY TAX BREAK!

Guest room must-haves

Everyone wants their guests to feel comfortable staying in their homes. Whether they’re here for a one-night stay or they’re a long-term guest, you probably want to make your overnight visitors feel right at home. Luckily for you, we’ve created our essential guide to making your guest bedroom comfortable, cozy, and relaxing for any guest.

The first thing every guest bedroom must have is a comfortable bed. You don’t want to throw your old mattress into your guest bedroom and expect visitors to have a good night's sleep. It’s always a good idea to invest in a nice firm mattress so that your guests can sleep easy during their stay. With any snug bed, fresh linens, an assortment of pillows, and an extra blanket will add an additional level of comfort for your guests.

Another extremely important need for any guest room is a good bedside table. Everyone relies on their nightstand to help keep things near them whilst they sleep: a glass of water, book, or a pair of glasses, to name a few. Unless you want your guests to leave their things on the floor, a nice nightstand with a drawer helps them keep everything they need near them.

Another necessity for your guest bedroom is space to put their clothes. Make sure your guests have a place to lay out their clothes and comfortably fit their belongings so they can stay organized during their visit. You should have at least two drawers free and sufficient hanging space in the closet for your guests.

Full length mirrors are a great addition to any guest bedroom, especially if there is a special event your guests are here for. This add-on will help your guests get ready for the day and see their whole outfit before heading out the door. It’s also a great decorative piece to cover up an empty side of a wall and brighten up the room.

Lastly, a good vanity goes a long way in any guest bedroom. Your guest will be grateful for a place to sit and do their hair, makeup or skincare without taking up the bathroom (especially if you’re all sharing). Also, a vanity is a great place for you to leave out some extra toiletries which your guest will be grateful for and keeps them from having to make a trip to the store.

Hopefully these tips will help you create the perfect space for your guests to stay. Once these items are set up and in place, your guest room will always be ready for visitors. However, they may be more likely to overstay their welcome!
