    Defective TV Smart Hub and Poor customer service

    I purchased a Samsung 40 1080p Full HD Smart LED TV UN40J5200AFXZC along with an LG front loading washer and dryer from the Leon's store on Heron Road in Ottawa on July 9, 2016.

    After setting up the TV on Saturday, July 10, I immediately encountered difficulty accessing the Smart Hub. I was unsuccessful in resolving the problem so I contacted Samsung's telephone support line. After a period of time on hold I was eventually redirected to the Remote Management group who walked me through the steps to reset the Smart Hub. While the Remote Management fellow was helpful, the entire process took approximately 1 hour- which is more television than I've watched in the past 5 years, ironically.

    Fast forward to today, Sunday July 10, I turned the TV on again and immediately encountered problems with the Smart Hub. I reset it once again and then shut the TV off briefly. Upon turning it on again, the Smart Hub again required resetting.

    At this point I was quite frustrated and contacted Leon's to explain my situation. The sales person indicated they can't take returns. I asked to speak to a manager and was connected with the manager that I originally dealt; he told me that I have to deal directly with Samsung, as they can only authorize a return/refund. Needless to say I was not impressed- I immediately told him that I would be cancelling my order for the washer and dryer, which I did.

    I then contacted Samsung who would also not authorize a return or refund, claiming that there is an issue at their end with the Smart Hub and that I must wait a period of 24-48 hours to see if they can resolve the issue.

    I wasn't impressed with either Samsung's TV or Leon's customer service and I will not purchase anymore products from either company again. Customer service isn't rocket science however some companies (and sales people) haven't seemed to figured that out.
